Rockwall High School Football has Strong Support from RYCA Youth Football Program

Powerhouse High School Football programs are built organizing programs that help teach football systems and philosophy’s as early as age five.  Texas is known for having national ranked programs such as Southlake Carroll, Austin Westlake, Odessa Permian, Converse Judson, Stephenville, Tyler John Tyler, Celina, Katy, and Lufkin High School.  Kids from these towns are born with a football in hand, and a weekly Friday night date at the high school stadium.

Coaches are paid more than the high school principal and more powerful than the mayor if they win.  They are run out of town if they lose.

High School Football is talked about all year long.  It is a daily conversation in coffee shops, schools, and even mentioned in the pulpits at churches.  Wardrobes are filled with the colors of the school, and sacred rituals helping the team to victory are the norm.
However, these programs do not happen overnight.  They are built starting at the grade school level.  Usually, the head high school football coach has control over all athletic coaches and programs in the district.  A new high school coach is granted the power by the school board to hire and fire middle school and high school coaches.  The middle school football programs are expected to learn the high school program and teach its players the system.  Great programs take it a step further.

Great high school football programs build youth programs which promote the love of the game, but also the knowledge of the system.  That means kids as young as five years of age are taught the terminology and philosophy of the high school football system.

Coach Rodney Webb of Rockwall High School program is finishing up his first season as the school’s Varsity Head Football Coach.  He has led the Rockwall High School Yellowjackets to the playoffs, and looks to continue that trend for years to come.

Although, Rockwall High School has not won a State Championship title since 1963 (2A- Rockwall 7 beats Sugar Land Dulles 6) and hasn’t been to the title game since 1972 (2A- Boling 20 beats Rockwall 0); Coach Webb fully intends to change this trend.  He understands how great programs are built, and has taken the initiative to align the RYSA Rockwall Youth Football Program up with the High School Program.

With the help of the RYCA board, coaches, team moms, and many other volunteers; the RYCA Jackets have taken this vertical alignment and created one of the strongest youth programs in North Texas.  The RYCA Jackets have built a grade/age pure program that learns the High School Football System, and prepares its players to take their skills to the middle schools and ultimately to the Rockwall High School Yellowjackets football program.  The RYCA has created one of the strongest communication programs via social media with the help of DeliveryMaxx where the organization can recruit and help feed future Jackets through the high school system.
Because of this partnership between Rockwall High School Football, and the RYCA Youth Football Organization both Coach Webb and QB, Will Reed each has been awarded coach and player of the week recognition.  Also, players like Will Reed, Luke Turmin, and Tamba Juanah talked to the 6th Grade Nebbie Jackets football team just before the championship game.

Recently, the RYCA, and the Jacket Backers put together a grassroots campaign to help Coach Rodney Webb earn the High School Coach of the Week with online voting!
As the two programs continue to grow; the community of Rockwall is looking for more High School Football State Championships!  The way things are going, the RYCA Youth Football Program is looking forward to seeing many of our boys accepting the coveted State Championship trophy and having their names etched in history.
