RYCA Jackets Football!

Via Flickr:
Another battle between crosstown rivals RYCA Rockwall Jackets and HHCA Heath Hawks youth football teams squared off at Rockwall-Heath High School.

In the last meeting between these two 6th grade football teams, the Jackets easily beat the Hawks 33-0. However, the Hawks claimed the Jackets didn't use the proper size ball even though the ball was approved by the football organization. So to remove all doubt, the Rockwall Jackets of the RYCA used the Heath Hawks football during the entire game. The Jackets didn't score 33 this time around, but they did score 28 and didn't allow the Hawks in the end zone for the 2nd time this season. This time the Jackets easily defeated the Hawks 28-0 erasing any misconception of who the better team was.

The game started out with Cody Rollins running back the opening kickoff 70 yards for a 6-0 lead. After an early injury to star quarterback during a 20 yard touchdown run by Tyler Ashworth; Tanner Webb continued to lead the Jackets up and down the field.

Tanner also led the defense with a key interception and some strong tackles holding the HHCA Heath Hawks to negative yardage for the game.

Chase Burkey had a beautiful Touchdown grab along with Brendon Murray on an extra point pass. Lake Johnson nailed an extra point field goal to add to the scoring. Joseph Schaefer was dominant as usual at the Middle Linebacker spot while the play of cornerbacks Jaxon Rife, Zach Elsey, and Chase Burkey continued to force the Hawks inside where there was nowhere to go.

Congratulations RYCA Rockwall Jackets 6th Grade Team!
