The Nebbie Rockwall RYCA Jackets 6th Grade Football Team (2-0) defeated the Hartman Jackets 42-0 with strong play on both sides of the field winning what was called "THE BATTLE of THE SHORES". Except for a couple of fumbles in scoring position, the Nebbie Jackets were near perfect on offense and defense.
The first half ended with Nebbie Jackets 30 to the Hartman team at 0. Through three quarters the Hartman team had negative offensive yards and finished the game with 2 total first downs. However, the Nebbie Jackets had several sacks, and one pick by Cody Rollins to end the game leaving the Hartman with a NET total of 0 yards. The normal plays by Joseph Schaefer, Tanner Webb, Howie Morgenthaler and Brendon Murray were strong as usual, but with Defensive Player of the Game Alex Cummings stepping up- Hartman was unable to move the ball the whole day.
On the offensive side of the ball, Tyler Ashworth played the first 2 quarters before taking his helmet off and becoming a spectator for the rest of the game. He led his Nebbie Jackets offense to 4 scores in two quarters of play spreading the ball to Elsey, Rollins, Schaefer, and Webb.
With starters Ashworth, and Schaefer sitting out the entire 2nd half; Nebbie Jackets continued to dominate the game finishing with a 42-0 blowout of Hartman Jackets.
Wednesday, the RYCA Jackets 6th Grade Nebbie team will play the Hays Jackets for battle of 1st place standings. It is sure to be a tough game.
