The sounds of shoulder pads and parents cheers will be heard across town this Saturday when the Rockwall Jackets (RYCA) fields their teams at Wisdom Field, Rockwall High School, and Rockwall-Heath High School. Over 300 boys from 5 years of age to 12 will be competing in flag and tackle football.
Thursday, the elementary schools will be “Oranged Out” where all Jacket Football Players will be wearing their orange game day jerseys in support of the High School Jackets!
The RYCA is the largest football organization in Rockwall County and one of the largest premier leagues in North Texas. It is the only youth football program that is vertically aligned with Rockwall High School Jackets Varsity Football Program according to Head Coach, Rodney Webb. The RYCA has a strong commitment to principles and strives to be a community-driven organization with the genuine participation of athletes, volunteers, parents, family members, teachers, school administrators and local businesses. We encourage the RYCA Family to attend community and district events and to always support our community and display our Jacket Pride.
The RYCA will make every effort to make sure that every child with the desire to participate gets the opportunity to play or cheer, without financial costs, prior experience, athletic ability or size. The league is devoted to inspiriting our young athletes (kindergarten through 6th grade) and will give them the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the reality of defeat, the importance of commitment and spirit in the community. The RYCA believes these values and virtues are important to athletes’ growth and to them becoming active members of our community and society. The RYCA Jackets is on a mission to give back to the community, to be the community’s youth sports program, to rally Stingers’ Up!
On behalf of the RYCA, we look forward to seeing all of our friends in family cheering your Jackets to victory! Be sure to catch the latest game day scores and highlights by following the highlights on the RYCA Rockwall Jackets News Site and Facebook.
